This 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was delivered new to Ford Motor Company of Canada as a Special Purpose Vehicle for promotional use and was refurbished and repainted in the mid-2000s.The J-code 429ci Super Cobra Jet V8 was the highest-spec Mustang engine available for 1971 and features forged pistons and connecting rods, four-bolt main bearing caps, aluminum valve covers, and an 80-amp alternator.Topped with a Holley 780cfm carburetor, the engine was factory rated at 370 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque.An oil change was performed in early 2022.Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C6 SelectShift three-speed automatic transmission and a Detroit Locker limited-slip differential with a 4.11:1 final drive ratio.Documentation includes the manufacturer invoice, a copy of the window sticker, and a Marti report decoding the VIN and providing additional details.The car is finished in Grabber Green Metallic over a black Mach 1 Sports interior and is powered by a 429ci Super Cobra Jet engine paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a Detroit Locker limited-slip differential.Options include the Drag Pack, a Dual Ram Induction hood, power steering, power front disc brakes, and chrome Magnum 500 wheels.The Sportsroof body was repainted in the original Grabber Green Metallic (Z) during the early-2000s refurbishment.Features include a black decklid spoiler and front chin spoiler, black Mach 1 graphics, a Dual Ram Induction hood, a body-color front bumper, a chrome rear bumper, and concealed windshield wipers.Chrome 15″ Magnum 500 wheels are fitted with F60 Goodyear Polyglas GT tires.The car is equipped with optional power steering, and braking is provided by optional power front discs and the standard rear drums.Suspension components include front coil springs and A-arms along with rear leaf springs and diagonally-mounted shock absorbers.The cabin features the Mach 1 Sports Interior group option which included high-back bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl with gray accent stripes and knitted vinyl inserts.Amenities include woodgrain trim on the center console, steering wheel, and door panels as well as a Sport Deck folding rear seat, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, power door locks and windows, a heater, and a rear window defroster.The two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel level gauge.
