This 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was delivered new to Ford Motor Company of Canada as a Special Purpose Vehicle for promotional use and was refurbished and repainted in the mid-2000s.
The J-code 429ci Super Cobra Jet V8 was the highest-spec Mustang engine available for 1971 and features forged pistons and connecting rods, four-bolt main bearing caps, aluminum valve covers, and an 80-amp alternator.
Topped with a Holley 780cfm carburetor, the engine was factory rated at 370 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque.
An oil change was performed in early 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C6 SelectShift three-speed automatic transmission and a Detroit Locker limited-slip differential with a 4.11:1 final drive ratio.
Documentation includes the manufacturer invoice, a copy of the window sticker, and a Marti report decoding the VIN and providing additional details.
