This 1970 Plymouth Superbird is finished in green with a black vinyl top over a black interior and is powered by a numbers-matching 440ci V8 paired with a replacement Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission.
Features include a nose cone, rear wing, satin-black graphics, power steering, a trio of two-barrel carburetors, power-assisted brakes with front discs, 15″ Rallye wheels, and a push-button AM radio.
The numbers-matching 440ci V8 features a triple-two-barrel induction system and was factory rated at 390 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
The engine have been rebuilt.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a replacement Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission.
Based on Plymouth’s mid-size Road Runner model, the 1970-only Superbird was redesigned for NASCAR competition, which required Chrysler to produce approximately 2,000 examples for homologation.
