This 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was built at the Metuchen plant in September 1969, and is finished in Lime Metallic over a black vinyl interior.
Power is supplied by an overbored 428ci Super Cobra Jet V8 mated to a four-speed Toploader transmission.
The 428ci Super Cobra Jet V8 has been bored .030″ over and was rebuilt by Belleville Automotive in June 2008.
The work included installation of TRW pistons and a Crane Fireball camshaft.
A DOZF 735-cfm carburetor and custom 2.5” exhaust were also added, and the firewall and transmission housing were replaced.
The Sportsroof body received a repaint in its factory shade of Lime Metallic by Thorpe’s Body & Corvette Shop following the installation of replacement body panels and shock towers.
A black hood stripe and “428” graphics were added, and other Mach 1–specific appointments include a rear deck spoiler, rear window louvers, and rocker-panel moldings.
Magnum 500 wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires.
The car is equipped with power steering and rear disc brakes.
A front-end alignment was performed last year.
High-back bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl and equipped with lap belts.
Wood veneer trim accents the dashboard and the door panels.
A push-button Philco AM radio is mounted in the dash, and a Hurst shifter is equipped for the four-speed Toploader manual transmission.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 21k miles, true mileage is unknown.
