Built to homologate the Dodge Challenger for the SCCA’s Trans-Am series, Challenger T/A models received power from a 340ci V8 with a “Six Pack” trio of two-barrel carburetors.
The A53 package included the 340ci Six Pack V8 that is equipped with three Holley two-barrel carburetors, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and side-exit exhaust.
Holley M/T valve covers are fitted along with Moroso spark-plug wires, braided-steel fuel lines, and an aftermarket alternator.
A fluid service was recently performed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a 3.91:1 Sure Grip axle.
This car features a four-speed manual transmission, and other T/A equipment includes a fiberglass scooped hood, hood pins, front disc brakes, heavy-duty shocks and suspension, 15″ x 7″ Rallye wheels, and dual side-exit exhaust.
Recent work have included fluid changes.
The T/A package (A53) included a matte-black fiberglass hood featuring an intake scoop and securing pins.
A matte-black rear spoiler is accompanied by matching side stripes with T/A callouts running along the beltline.

Challenger T/A cars featured 15″ x 7″ wheels with 60-series tires that were wider at the rear wheels than the front.
New BFGoodrich Radial T/A rubber installed is mounted at all four corners of this car, and the suspension was recently fitted with KYB Gas-a-Just shocks.
The interior is equipped with high-back Saddle Tan bucket seats with a color-keyed dashboard, carpets, and woodgrain trim.
The car is also equipped with a Pistol Grip shifter and a Pioneer AM/FM cassette radio.
Instrumentation includes an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 79k miles, TMU.
