This 1969 Ford Torino was delivered new to Walt Hickey Ford of Southgate, Michigan in February 1969 and is example #477 of 750 equipped with the Talladega option that was created to meet NASCAR homologation requirements. The package consisted of an extended front nose, a flush-mounted grille and headlamps, unique rocker panels, a pillarless roof design, and a competition black hood and tail panel. This car is one of 199 finished in Presidential Blue over black upholstery and is powered by a 428ci Cobra Jet V8 mated to a C6 three-speed automatic transmission and a 3.25:1 rear axle. Equipment includes power steering, power front disc brakes, 14″ color-matched steel wheels, an AM radio, and color-keyed racing mirrors.

The 428ci Cobra Jet V8 have been rebuilt and is able to run on unleaded premium fuel.

A Lunati camshaft and Holley four-barrel carburetor are installed and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster 50 series mufflers is fitted.

The cylinder heads were rebuilt by 422 Motorsports in 2017, and service in preparation for sale have consisted of replacing the spark plugs and exhaust manifold gaskets as well as performing an oil change.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a C6 three-speed automatic transmission and a 9-inch rear axle with 3.25:1 gears.

The rear axle was rebuilt in 2018.

Based on the mid-size Torino, the Talladega option was designed for NASCAR competition, which required Ford to produce 750 examples for homologation.

Standard Talladega equipment includes an extended and sloped front nose, a flush-mounted grille, quad headlamps, lengthened rocker panels, a pillarless roof design, and a competition black hood and tail panel.

Additional equipment consists of color-keyed sport mirrors and a dual outlet exhaust that exits below the rear bumper.

The car is finished in Presidential Blue (X) and have been repainted.

The color-matched steel wheels wear hubcaps and are mounted with FR70-14 Firestone Super Sports white-letter tires.

A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk.

The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The cabin features twin bench seats upholstered in black vinyl with patterned cloth inserts joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets.

Equipment includes Talladega door badging, manually-operated windows, a heater and defroster, lap belts for all occupants, and a Philco push-button AM radio.

The two-spoke steering wheel has a horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel level gauge.
