The replacement 302ci V8 was installed and is equipped with a chrome thermostat housing, air cleaner, and valve covers. The motor was removed as part of refurbishment in order to replace left hand shock tower. The motor mounts were replaced along with the PCV valve, radiator hose, oil cap, valve and cover gaskets. The fuel system was rebuilt using a reproduction tank as well as a replacement fuel sending unit, low fuel sensor, gaskets, and hardware.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed C4 automatic transmission that was rebuilt.
The Deluxe Marti report shows a build date of July 26, 1968, along with factory colors, equipment, production statistics, and initial delivery to O’Connor Lincoln Mercury.
An aftermarket Cougar-branded steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges.
