1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 was built on April 5, 1967 and is one of 2,048 fastback examples produced for the model year.
Finished in blue with white stripes over black vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, a 3.50:1 Traction-Lok differential, power steering, power front disc brakes, a competition suspension package, and a push-button radio.
This example left the factory finished in Nightmist Blue with white racing stripes and reportedly underwent a repaint in the mid-1970s. Design features included an extended fiberglass nose panel and an elongated fiberglass hood with a functional scoop. Additional fiberglass panels were utilized for the taillight panel, trunk lid, ducktail rear spoiler, fender extensions, and air scoops on the sail panel and fenders.

Magstar-style 15” alloy wheels wear Goodyear Speedway tires. Steering and braking is power-assisted, the latter of which is handled by discs up front and drums out back.
Black knitted vinyl covers the front bucket seats and fold-down rear seat, while brushed aluminum trim accents the dash and door panels. Equipment unique to Shelby models comprises a wood-rimmed steering wheel with a branded horn button as well as a roll bar with inertia-reel shoulder harnesses. The passenger side of the dash bears a decal of Carroll Shelby’s signature, and a factory push-button AM radio inhabits the center stack
