The 427ci side-oiler V8 is equipped with dual Holley four-barrel carburetors, an aluminum intake manifold and air-cleaner lid, chrome valve covers, and a dual exhaust system with a crossover pipe. Work performed in 2023 involved rebuilding the carburetors, fuel pump, alternator, starter, and fan clutch as well as replacing the transistorized ignition amplifier, reproduction Motorcraft battery, fuel hoses, and coolant hoses. The radiator was rodded and refinished, and the blue paint on the engine was touched up.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Toploader four-speed manual transmission and an open differential with 3.89:1 gearing. The transmission and the differential were resealed and the fluids were replaced in 2023 along with the bushings and seals for the clutch linkage and the shifter assembly.
The warranty number is consistent with a 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 two-door hardtop produced at the Atlanta, Georgia, assembly plant and powered by a 427ci V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors.
Photos from the 1990s refurbishment are included in the sale along with receipts from the 2023 work.
The five-digit odometer was reset and shows just over 550 miles; approximately 300 miles have been added in the past year. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
