This Shelby Cobra is an aluminum-bodied CSX4000 continuation model that was completed in 2000.
The car is finished in Ford Medium Royal Blue over black leather upholstery and powered by an aluminum 427ci side-oiler V8 mated with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
Equipment includes 15″ Halibrand-style knock-off wheels, a chrome roll hoop, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, independent suspension, side exhaust pipes, Simpson latch-and-link lap belts, and a fire protection system.
The aluminum bodywork is finished in Ford Medium Royal Blue and features side pipes, a chrome roll hoop, quick-jack bumpers, wind wings, a driver’s billet mirror, a Le Mans-style fuel cap, and Shelby badging.
The 15” Halibrand-style wheels are secured by three-eared knock-off spinners retained by safety wire and are mounted with Goodyear Eagle white-letter tires. Braking is through Wilwood four-wheel discs.
The car rides on four-wheel independent suspension with coilovers and rack-and-pinion steering.
Low-back bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and joined by a color-coordinated leather-wrapped dashboard, door cards, and carpets.
Equipment includes a fire suppression system, dash-mounted mirror, sun visors, Simpson racing harnesses, a heater, and Shelby-branded floor mats.
Approximately 650 CSX4000 continuation Cobras were built by Shelby American, Inc. between 1997 and 2009, and a dash plaque identifies this example as CSX4196.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Shelby-branded instrumentation that includes a reverse-sweep 180-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges.
The five-digit odometer shows approximately 1k miles.
The speedometer cable was replaced in 2012 and the odometer was reset. True mileage is unknown.
