The Dart Ford 351ci V8 was bored and stroked to 427ci by Iconic Parts.
Service in November 2022 included a carburetor adjustment, replacement spark plugs, and an oil change.
Engine components are included the following: Mahle pistons and rings, APR head bolts, Holley Avenger carburetor, Edelbrock RPM intake manifold, Roller camshaft, Roller rocker arms, MSD electronic ignition, Cobra-branded oval air cleaner and 427 valve covers, Serpentine accessory belt system, Ceramic coated headers, Canton Racing Products oil pan.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential.
The Backdraft features fiberglass bodywork over a black box frame, and this example is finished in Indigo Blue metallic with white center stripes and “Powered by Iconic 427” hood graphics.
Features include a Raydyot-style side mirror, wind wings, side exhaust pipes, a chrome driver’s roll hoop, and front and rear quick-jack bumperettes.
Halibrand-style 18” wheels wear staggered-width Nitto NT555 G2 tires sized 245/40 up front and 295/40 at the rear.
The car is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, and the suspension features front coilovers, front and rear sway bars, and a rear multi-link independent setup sourced from a BMW M3.
The fixed-back bucket seats are upholstered in black leather with matching door panels and carpets.
Equipment includes Crow four-point harnesses, door pockets, sun visors, fuel and electrical cutoff switches, and a Pioneer CD stereo.
