This 1964 Jaguar E-Type is a Series I open two-seater that was manufactured on July 4, 1963, shortly before being dispatched to Jaguar Cars of New York for distribution in the US.

Work involved a repaint in Carmen Red, a re-trim of the interior in Biscuit leather, the installation of a tan convertible top, an overhaul of the triple-carbureted 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six, and refreshes of the rear end, suspension, fuel system, wiring, and gauges.

A heavy-duty cooling system with a larger aluminum radiator and a CoolCat cooling fan were added, while additional modifications include a spin-on oil filter assembly, stone-guard finish under the bonnet and wheel wells, a rear brake-bleeder kit, electronic ignition, and a stainless-steel exhaust system.

Additional features include a four-speed manual transmission, 15” wire wheels, and four-wheel disc brakes.

The car was disassembled down to its unibody tub and placed on a rotisserie during the refurbishment that was started in 2016 by Eau Claire British Car.

The body was stripped and underwent metal repairs that included replacement of the floor panels, rocker panels, and door skins before a repaint in its factory shade of Carmen Red.

The front bumpers were replaced, while additional brightwork pieces were re-plated.

Features include covered headlights, chrome bumpers with overriders, triple windshield wipers, a cowl-mounted antenna, and a beige convertible top.

The chrome-finished 15” wire wheels are secured via two-eared knock-offs and are wrapped in 6.40-16 Avon Super Safety tires, as is a matching spare housed in the trunk.

Stopping is handled by four-wheel disc brakes with the rear units situated inboard.

A refresh of the brake system during the refurbishment included rebuilds of the master cylinder and calipers, the rear of which were fitted with a remote bleeding system.

The steering and suspension systems were also overhauled during the project with replacement shock absorbers, ball joints, and various bushings.

The cabin was re-trimmed during the refurbishment using Biscuit leather over the bucket seats with matching upholstery on the door panels.

Biscuit carpeting is protected by black rubber floor mats embossed with Jaguar logos, while color-matched Hardura lines the area behind the seats.

Additional interior features include lap belts, aluminum console and center dash trim, and a push-button radio.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel features drilled spokes and sits ahead of refurbished Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an inset clock.

The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, gauges monitoring coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are situated at center dash above toggle switchgear.
