The 327ci L76 V8 was equipped from the factory with a single four-barrel carburetor and a high-lift camshaft for a factory rating of 340 horsepower, and it was rebuilt in 1989. The carburetor was rebuilt in 2020 and the radiator was replaced in 2022. The crankshaft input roller bearing was replaced and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale.

The engine stamping includes sequence 114230, which matches the last six digits of the vehicle’s serial number. The RE suffix corresponds with a 340-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and an optional Positraction differential have 4.11:1 gearing. A Hays clutch disc and 10.5″ pressure plate and replacement exhaust pipes, hangers, and mufflers were fitted in 1989. The clutch fork was replaced in preparation for the sale.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. A refurbishment of the instrument cluster was completed in 1989.
