A 289ci R1 V8 have been sourced from a contemporary Studebaker Avanti was installed and features finned Studebaker-branded valve covers, a Mopar 340–based polished intake manifold, a chrome air cleaner, an MSD ignition coil, and an aluminum radiator.
Originally ordered in Glade Green (6252), the body have been refinished in the current red in 1972.
The truck has door-mounted side mirrors, a full-width sliding rear window, a dual-exit exhaust system, a black spray-in bedliner, “Avanti R1 Powered” badges on both fenders, and chrome bumpers and trim.
Summit Racing auxiliary gauges mounted to the bottom of the dash measure oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage.
The five-digit odometer indicates 16k miles, true mileage is unknown.
