This 1962 Pontiac Catalina Sport Coupe is powered by a 455ci V8 paired with a four-speed transmission and was refurbished in the style of a Super Duty package equipped model from the same year. Work completed in 2008 included repainting the body maroon, rebuilding the engine and rear axle, and retrimming the interior. Equipment includes dual AFB carburetors mounted to a Super Duty-style intake manifold, 15″ steel wheels, four-wheel drum brakes, chrome trim, tri-color upholstery, and AutoMeter auxiliary gauges.
The replacement 389ci 425A V8 was bored and stroked to 455ci before it was rebuilt in 2008 using Super Duty-style components including the cylinder heads, intake manifold, and exhaust manifolds. Dual AFT carburetors were installed at that time along with a COMP Cams hydraulic roller camshaft. The oil was changed in preparation for sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed T10 manual transmission and a 3.90:1 limited-slip differential. The transmission was overhauled and the rear axle was rebuilt as part of the 2008 refurbishment.
The body was chemically stripped to bare metal before it was repainted in its factory shade of Maroon (NN) as part of a refurbishment completed in 2008. Exterior equipment includes a driver-side mirror, quad headlights, Catalina badging, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome trim on the side moldings, bumpers, window surrounds, and grille. Side mirrors and windshield wipers are not equipped, and a Lexan windshield and back window were installed at the time of the repaint.
Black-finished 15″ steel wheels wear Firestone Deluxe Champion tires. Unassisted four-wheel drum brakes are installed.
The cabin was retrimmed as part of the refurbishment and features front and rear bench seats upholstered in tri-color vinyl. Equipment includes lap belts for the front occupants, vent windows, an ashtray, a floor-mounted shifter, Pontiac-logo rubber floor mats, and door panel armrests.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a half-horn ring and fronts a 120-mph speedometer and a column-mounted 8k-rpm AutoMeter tachometer. A pair of AutoMeter auxiliary gauges mounted beneath the dashboard display oil pressure and coolant temperature.
The five-digit odometer shows just under 27k miles, total mileage is unknown.
