This 1961 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite was refurbished and modified, including installation of a 1,275cc Austin A-series inline-four, a Datsun five-speed manual gearbox, and front disc brakes.
The car is finished in black over red leather upholstery and equipped with dual SU carburetors, a front-hinged hood secured with pins, 13” Minilite-style wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and chrome rear bumperettes.
The replacement 1,275cc Austin A-series inline-four is equipped with dual SU carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels via a Datsun five-speed manual transmission that was installed using a Rivergate Racing Products kit.
Work performed in preparation for the sale have included a tune-up, rebuilds of the radiator and carburetors, and replacement of the fuel tank and pump.
The car have been repainted its current shade of black.
Exterior details include chrome rear bumperettes and a forward-tilting hood conversion secured by pins.
A soft top frame is included in the sale.
The 13” Minilite-style wheels are mounted with 175/70 Cornell 1000 Radial A/S tires.
Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums, the brakes were serviced in preparation for the sale.
The cabin has been reupholstered and houses bucket seats trimmed in red leather upholstery that extends to the dashboard and door panels.
Appointments include red carpets, a black leather shift boot, a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, and a passenger-side grab handle.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 100-mph speedometer, auxiliary displays, and an inoperable tachometer.
