This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Hardtop is a documented vehicle finished in its original color combination of Sierra Gold with an Adobe Beige top.
Power comes from a numbers-matching 245 horsepower 283ci V8 with two four-barrel carburetors paired to a GM 700R4 automatic transmission.
Under the hood is a factory 245 horsepower 283ci V8 with hydraulic lifters, which breathes through two Carter WCFB four barrel carburetors and a “bat wing” air cleaner.
The factory numbers and date-codes match on the engine, mechanical advance distributor, 3/8 fuel line, generator bracket, coil bracket, linkage, fuel pump, and fuel filter.
A Pertronix electronic ignition system has been added, along with an electric fuel pump.
Several OEM parts accompany the sale, including the original four-barrel carburetor, mechanical fuel pump, intake, and air cleaner.
This Bel Air has received one repaint in its factory colors, which was completed with the interior, trim, glass, and engine removed.
All sheet metal is claimed to be original, and photos documenting the repaint are included with the sale.
A factory-style mirror has been added to the passenger door.
The rear suspension is stock aside from modern gas shocks, while the front utilizes 2” drop spindles, an anti-sway bar, and new bushings and shocks.
Power front disc brakes have been added.
Most of the original brake parts including the front drums are included.
Later model wheels were used to clear the front calipers, and are fitted with ’57 Chevrolet 210 hub caps with chrome beauty rings.
Also included are all four original powder coated wheels, and two original hub caps.
The trunk compartment contains a factory spare assembly and black rubber floor mat.
Inside, the seat upholstery and headliner were redone with original-style materials.
A factory power steering system has been added, including an OEM power steering pump/generator, hydraulic ram cylinder, center drag link, inner and outer tie rods and sleeves, idler arm, pitman arm, and hoses.
The original rebuilt generator is also included.
An AM/FM CD player was professionally installed in the glovebox, and upgraded speakers remain in the factory locations.
A speaker switch on the dashboard was installed approximately 60 years ago.
The original cardboard glove box is included, and is in nice condition.
Currently, the mechanical odometer shows 17k miles and has turned over once.
