The 4.9-liter S62 V8 was shared with the contemporary E39 M5 and features double-VANOS variable valve timing for a factory-rated output of 394 horsepower and 368 lb-ft torque. Service included replacing the fuel pump, spark plugs, ignition coils, and starter motor. An oil change was performed, and the mass air flow sensor and intake manifold gaskets have been replaced in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
