The 427ci L72 V8 was factory-rated at 425 horsepower and could only be ordered for the 1969 Camaro via a Central Office Production Order (COPO). This engine was refurbished around 2000, and the MacNeish Report notes evidence that the engine pad has been decked and restamped.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with a Positraction differential, and the MacNeish Report notes that the housing has been restamped. A dual exhaust system with chambered mufflers has been installed.

The COPO Vehicle Verification certificate from The Copo Connection states that the car was produced under the “9561 L-72 High Performance Unit” and “9737 Sports Car Conversion” central office production order.

A 2023-dated Certificate of Authenticity from Camaro Hi-Performance LLC and Jerry MacNeish will accompany the car along with a MacNeish report outlining build information, factory options, and component assessments.
