The replacement 1,275cc inline-four was installed and feature: 10.5:1 compression ratio, Ported and polished big-valve cylinder head, Balanced and nitride-coated crankshaft, Shot-peened connecting rods, 288/280 camshaft, Polished rocker arms, Isky valve springs, Competition-style oil pump, Re-jetted twin 1.25″ SU carburetors, Electric fuel pump, Heat-wrapped header paired with a custom stainless-steel exhaust system, Replacement cloth-wrapped wiring harness.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a replacement “ribcase” four-speed manual transmission that have been fitted with a lightened flywheel, and a competition-style clutch and aftermarket front and rear main seals.

The 1985 British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory equipment, colors, serial numbers, and production dates.

The bucket seats were refinished in black vinyl with white piping and the carpets were replaced. Equipment includes a heater, a chrome passenger grab handle, a rear compartment that houses a full size spare, and replacement three-point seatbelts.

A two-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instruments including a tachometer, a 100-mph speedometer, and a five-digit odometer that shows 1k miles, though the odometer was reset during the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.
