The 351ci Windsor V8 is topped with a four-barrel carburetor and features a ram-air intake assembly and Cobra-branded finned aluminum valve covers. The engine was rebuilt and bored 0.030″ over by Lakeview Automotive Service Centre in July 2013. Replacement drive belts were installed in September 2019, and the radiator was replaced in preparation for sale. The exhaust manifolds were also resurfaced at that time and reinstalled with replacement gaskets.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via an optional close-ratio four-speed Toploader manual transmission and a 3.25:1 Traction-Lok differential. Transmission tag RUG AG 11375 corresponds to a 1969 close-ratio transmission for a 351ci-powered Mustang, along with case casting C8AR-7006-D. Replacement axle bearings were installed in September 2019, and service in preparation for sale included replacing the clutch, flywheel, fuel tank, fuel pump, pinion bearings, and seals. The removed fuel tank is included in the sale.
The factory woodgrain steering wheel was refurbished in 2019, and it frames a 140-mph speedometer along with an 8k-rpm tachometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Additional readouts for oil pressure and amperage are mounted above the center console, the former of which was overhauled.
The five-digit odometer shows 96k miles, the trip odometer reset knob was repaired in 2019, and total mileage is unknown.
