This 1968 Pontiac GTO convertible is powered by a 400ci V8 mated to a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in red over red vinyl upholstery.Equipment includes a power-operated white convertible top, dual hood scoops, hideaway headlamps, power-assisted steering, 14″ Rally II-style wheels, and a Hurst shifter.The springs, bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, brake components, a stainless steel fuel line, and body mounts as well as a windshield wiper motor and pump, the starter, and headlight vacuum actuators have been recently replaced.The 400ci V8 was removed and rebuilt and bored 0.025″ over.Recent work have included the replacement of the battery, fuel line, and starter motor.Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission.The transmission gaskets, seals, clutches, and bands were replaced.The body left the factory finished in Solar Red (R) and have been repainted in the early 2000s.The windshield and right rear quarter panel were replaced and the bright work was refreshed during the refurbishment.Equipment includes a power-operated white convertible top, a painted front bumper, dual hood scoops, hideaway headlamps, GTO badging on the front fenders, polished rocker and wheel opening moldings, and a dual-outlet exhaust that exits below the chrome rear bumper.The windshield wiper motor and pump and the headlight vacuum actuators have been recently replaced and the convertible top boot fits poorly.The 14″ Rally II-style wheels wear chrome trim rings and PMD center caps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires.A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk.The car is equipped with power steering and braking is handled by drums at all four corners.Recent work have included the installation of replacement springs, bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, brake components, and body mounts.The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in red vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets.Equipment includes woodgrain trim, a center console, lap belts, a Hurst “His and Hers” floor-mounted shifter, GTO-branded floor mats, and a cabin heater.The red three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a multifunction gauge. Three auxiliary gauges are mounted below the center of the dashboard.The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles.
