The build started with a steel 1931 Model A roadster, and work included modifying the frame and refinishing the exterior in purple along with the installation of a 305ci Chevrolet V8, a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, front disc brakes, a rear coil-over suspension, and a tan leather interior.The 305ci Chevrolet V8 was built by Bear Metal Kustoms and is equipped with three 2-barrel Rochester carburetors and bronze-colored ram’s-horn exhaust manifolds.Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch as well as a Chevrolet rear end featuring Moser axles and gears.Oil and coolant changes were performed in May 2023.The car was completed in 2011 by Bear Metal Kustoms utilizing a steel Model A body and frame.The frame rails were boxed and upswept 3″ in the front, while the back of the frame was cut and raised 10″.Other features include custom-built tubular crossmembers, engine mounts, and frame stiffeners, along with Electroline headlights and taillights, an inverted 1931 Model A grille blended with an Oakland grille, side-exit exhaust, and louvers on the hood and trunk.The exterior is finished in Texas Christian University purple, and the removable hood is shown fitted below.15″ E/T wheels wear 165/80 radial tires up front and 235/75 whitewalls out back.The front suspension features a 5″ drop axle and reverse-eye springs with stainless-steel hairpins, while a 4-link setup is equipped at the rear with adjustable coil-overs.Braking is from front discs and rear drums, and a Schroeder sprint-car steering box is equipped.The tan leather interior is located behind dual Brooklands-style windscreens, a body-color dashboard, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel.Black rubber flooring is also equipped, as is a painted transmission tunnel.Classic Instruments gauges are housed in an oval Studebaker dash insert. The 6-digit odometer shows approximately 180 miles, which represents the distance driven since the completion of the build.Total chassis mileage is unknown.
