This 1940 Ford Deluxe Tudor Sedan is a mild custom that is powered by a 276ci Mercury flathead V8
The car was refurbished and modified including new paint and interior work in addition to an engine rebuild, front disc brake conversion, and addition of rack-and-pinion steering.
A C-4 automatic transmission has also been installed along with an Isky cam, Offenhauser heads, Fenton headers, Mallory ignition, a Walker radiator, Lokar shifter, and more.
The 276ci Flathead V8 was sourced from a 1948 Mercury and rebuilt with Offenhauser heads, an Isky camshaft, dual carburetors, and ceramic-coated Fenton headers.
Other additions include an alternator concealed within a generator shell, a Mallory ignition, and a Walker radiator.
The car was last serviced in April 2023 with an oil change using Valvoline VR1 Hi-Zinc oil, a chassis lube, rear differential fluid change, and replacement of the starter and solenoid.
Power is sent through a C4 automatic transmission to the Ford 8″ rear end.
Fiberglass front and rear fenders were added prior to a repaint in the current deep red finish, and special attention was made to door gaps and panel alignment.
15″ painted steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and whitewall tires.
Front disc brakes have been added along with rack-and-pinion steering.
The interior is finished in white and red vinyl upholstery with a matching carpet kit.
A period-look steering wheel is mounted to a modern tilt column, and the Lokar shifter is topped with an 8-ball knob.
The painted metal dash houses a speedometer, oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, fuel level indicator, and voltmeter.
The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows just over 15k miles, roughly 3,500 of which have been added since the completion of the build.
