1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS with a big-block V8 (casting number 3969854), manual four-speed, and 12-bolt Posi.Bathed in black with painted white stripes, it is an all-original, right down to the factory Rally wheels with Firestone Wide Oval F70R14 white-letter, bias-ply tires.This '70 is recently restored with the body taken all the way down to bare metal before the basecoat/clearcoat Tuxedo Black paint and bright white stripes were applied.The new front and rear chrome bumpers really pop against the jet black paint.The grille and headlight bezels appear in as-new condition, and the taillight housings are brand new.In general, the stainless trim appears in above-average (but not perfect) condition with only a little pitting on the window trim.This Chevelle also wears the optional passenger side-view mirror.The car's underside received a cleanup and fresh coat of paint after replacing the shocks and springs.All of the front suspension bushings are brand-new as well.This SS sports the factory-correct reinforced (boxed) rear control arms with the sway bar.Under the working cowl-induction hood, in the tidy engine bay, sits the Chevy big-block engine between brand-new inner fenderwells.The horsepower rating is unknown as it appears the block was decked, but it is healthy with a Holley 4150 carburetor and a fairly new exhaust.It wears a brand-new chrome air cleaner and stock-replacement valve covers.It has air-conditioning, power steering and power brakes (discs in front; drums in rear).Other new accessories include the wiper motor, washer bottle, battery, and battery tray.Upgrades and updates abound in the interior as well, from the windshield to the package tray.All of the weatherstripping is new, including the trunk, which also got fresh spatter paint.The dash sports a new top pad and upgraded bezel area complete with a RetroSound stereo and dual front 4-inch Kenwood speakers.New OEM-style gauges with a 6,500rpm tach sit above the freshly painted steering column.The vinyl seats are in great shape but did receive new seatbacks. A new carpet, floor mats, and headliner were installed along with door panels front and rear.The interior trim is all-new, including pedals, door handles, window cranks, door sills, and even the four-speed shifter knob.
